1. What Tech Wave is

Tech Wave is an open, non-commercial community initiative for people working with technology on the Costa del Sol. It is governed open source: nobody owns it, everybody builds it. The first chapter is Marbella; other chapters may adopt the same name, brand and charter.

Tech Wave is not a company, not an investment vehicle, and not an agency. No membership fees, no equity, no exclusivity.

2. Legal status and governing body

The initiative is currently run by its volunteer organisers. A formal governing body — an independent non-profit association under Spanish law, with published statutes, a steering group and rotating chapter representation — is in the process of being structured.

Until that entity is registered, the organisers act as caretakers: they hold the domain, brand assets and the signup list on behalf of the community, and commit to transferring them to the governing body once it exists. This page will be updated with the entity name and registration number when that happens.

3. Participation

Events are open to anyone who works with, builds with, invests in, or is simply curious about technology. No divisions, one community. You participate as yourself, at your own responsibility.

Event registration is handled by Luma. Places may be limited by venue capacity, and organisers may decline or withdraw a registration where conduct rules are broken.

4. Conduct

Respect people, respect the venue, respect confidentiality of what is shared in the room. No harassment, no discrimination, no hard selling, no unsolicited recruiting on the floor.

Organisers may ask anyone breaking these rules to leave an event and to stop taking part in future ones.

5. Content, brand and code

The Tech Wave brand system, this website's source, and any tooling the community produces are released under the MIT License so any chapter can reuse and adapt them. Written and visual materials published by the community are shared under CC BY-SA 4.0 with attribution to Tech Wave.

Photos and recordings may be taken at events for community communication. Tell an organiser if you prefer not to appear, and we will not publish you.

6. Liability

Events are informal gatherings. The organisers provide no warranty of any kind and are not liable for business decisions, losses, damages or injuries arising from participation, to the extent permitted by applicable Spanish and EU law.

7. Changes and contact

This charter evolves in the open. Material changes are announced to the mailing list. Questions, objections and improvement proposals are welcome — they are part of the governance model, not an interruption of it.
