Who we are

TECH WAVE is an unincorporated community initiative organised in Marbella, Spain by Wojciech Marek Erdmann and Ilia Diakov, who act as joint data controllers for the information described below. You can reach us at privacy@tech-wave.org for anything related to your data, including requests to access, correct or delete it

What we collect

When you register for one of our events (via Luma) or sign up on this site, we collect your name and email address, plus any optional information you choose to provide

Why we use it, and on what legal basis

• To manage your registration and communicate with you about the event you signed up for — necessary to provide you with the event you requested (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR)
• To let you know about future TECH WAVE events and community news — based on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), or, if you previously registered for a TECH WAVE event, our legitimate interest in telling you about similar future events (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). You can opt out at any time

Who else sees it

We use Luma (Lu.ma) to host event registrations and send emails. Your data is processed by them on our behalf. We do not sell your data or share it with sponsors, advertisers or any other third party

Partners and other communities

We run TECH WAVE events with partners — Soul Seekers for our first edition, and others in future. Partners are credited on the event page and in the graphics, they promote our events to their own audiences, and they receive attendance figures. What they never receive is access to the guest list, exports of it, or your contact details. That's a rule we've put in writing with each partner, not an informal understanding

Some of you first heard about TECH WAVE through the Silicon Vale calendar on Luma or through Founders Meetup Marbella. Those are separate, independent initiatives run by Ilie Diacov, each with its own subscriber list. If you subscribed to one of them, your subscription stays with that initiative — TECH WAVE does not receive, hold or use those lists, and unsubscribing from one has no effect on the other. You become part of the TECH WAVE audience only by registering for a TECH WAVE event or signing up here directly

Joint controllers

Wojciech Marek Erdmann and Ilia Diakov jointly decide how and why your data is used, under a written joint controller arrangement as required by Article 26 GDPR. Wojciech Marek Erdmann is the point of contact for all privacy requests at privacy@tech-wave.org, but you may exercise your rights against either of us. Some of our subscribers originally joined through Founders Meetup Marbella or the Silicon Vale event calendar, which are now part of TECH WAVE; if that is you, the same terms in this notice apply, and you can unsubscribe at any time

How long we keep it

For as long as you remain part of the community, or until you ask us to delete it — whichever comes first

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your data, and to receive a copy of it. Email privacy@tech-wave.org and we'll action it. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD, www.aepd.es)
